The Name Servers of a domain show the DNS servers that manage its DNS records. The IP of the web site (A record), the mail server that manages the e-mails for a domain address (MX records), any text record in free form (TXT record), forwarding (CNAME record) etc are obtained from the DNS servers of the website hosting company and for any domain to be using them and to be directed to their hosting platform, it has to have their name servers, or NS records. If you want to open a site, for example, and you input the URL, the web browser connects to a DNS server, which keeps the NS records for the domain name and the request is then redirected to the DNS servers of the hosting company where the A record of the web site is retrieved, so that you can see the content from the proper location. Usually a domain has a couple of name servers that start with NS or DNS as a prefix and the difference between the two is simply visual.

NS Records in Web Hosting

The outstanding Hepsia CP, which comes with our web hosting products, allows you to control the name servers of any domain address registered through our company with simply a few mouse clicks, so even though you may have not had a hosting plan or a domain before, you won't encounter any issues. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, comes with a very user-friendly interface and it will allow you to change the NS records of any domain name or even a number of domains together. We also give you the ability to create child name servers dns1.your-domain.com and dns2.your-domain.com for each and every domain name registered in the account just as easily and all you need for that is a pair of IPs - either ours, if you are going to use the child NS to point the domain name to the account on our cloud platform, or the ones of the third-party provider if you'll use the new records to direct the domain to their system. Different from other providers, we don't charge extra for providing this additional DNS management service.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The name servers for every single domain name that's registered through our company may be changed with no more than a few mouse clicks using the leading-edge, although easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel included with all semi-dedicated server plans. It's just as effortless to see the current NS records for a specific domain address and to determine if they're the ones that are necessary for the domain address to be forwarded to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to allow you to handle any domain name easily even if you have not dealt with such matters before. If you want, you can also register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not only for the domain name under which they're set up, but also for any other domain name that you would like to host within the exact same account. This feature is very useful when you have customers of your own and you wish their web sites to use your own name servers instead of our default ones. The service is available 100 % free.
