Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the single TLD intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to book john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered third-level names remained online.

You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer key from the current registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no specific terms on who can get a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
